Not In My Own Words

Whose words then?

You know how they say “you are the product of the choices you make”? Well, I think I am — at least partly – the product of the things I’ve read. A lot of how I think and what I believe has been influenced by the words written and characters created by people like C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, G.K. Chesterton and Dick Francis. Okay, that last one somewhat sticks out. But read his mysteries and you’ll be wanting to be the main character in no time.

Theirs are words that build principles, stir hearts and shape lives, and I hope they will do the same for you.

While I agree with you – I too am PARTLY the product of the things I’ve read, yet I would say that ” theirs words” not build but EXPLAINS the principles that we receive at birth. Great writes not shaped my life, but where the grand fellows…. I don’t know how this confession sounds in English : I am writing with the dictionary in hand and thus the grammar strictly binds my eloquence, but I hope you have understood me rightly – Thank you for the thought provoking post.
